Actor-producer Feroz Khan wants to become the first movie-maker to shoot a film in the war-torn Afghanistan once the current fighting ends there.
According to reports, Feroz has asked Afghan authorities for permission to use the country’s dramatic mountains as a backdrop for his film about an Afghan tycoon traumatized by the loss of his family after the Russian invasion.
Khan’s new film titled Janasheen (Close to my Heart) is a romantic thriller combining typical Bollywood masala with classic Afghan elements.
Janasheen will be the second film that Khan will be making in Afghanistan after Dharamatma, which was filmed in the mountainous country 23 years ago.
The new movie, which will have Feroz’s son Fardeen Khan and beauty queen-turned- actress Celina Jaitley playing the romantic lead, will also be shot in India, Australia and Thailand.
